Basic Popcorn
Ingredients (makes 2 bowls):

  1. Corn kernels 1/4 cup
  2. Oil 1 tbsp

Method

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil on medium/high heat.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of corn kernels.
  3. In few seconds the corns will start popping.
  4. Now close the lid of the pan & remove it from the heat.
  5. Put back on heat after 15 seconds (its important)
  6. You can hear the corns popping.
  7. When the popping sound decreases you can remove the popcorns & enjoy with your favourite topping.

Butter Popcorn
Ingredients for (makes 1 bowl):

  1. Basic Popcorn 1 bowl
  2. Butter 1 tbsp
  3. Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  4. Black pepper powder 1 tsp or to taste

Method

  1. Take a bowl full of basic popcorns.
  2. Add 1 tbsp butter, 1 tsp salt & 1 tsp black pepper powder.
  3. If the butter is salted dont add extra salt.
  4. You can adjust the amount of butter, salt & pepper as per your liking.

Caramel Popcorn
Ingredients for (makes 1 bowl):

  1. Basic Popcorn 1 bowl
  2. Salted Butter 2 tbsp
  3. Sugar 1/4 cup

Method

  1. Heat 1/4 cup sugar on medium heat.
  2. After about a minute the sugar would become little hard, add 1/2 tbsp salted butter.
  3. When the sugar melts add 1.5 tbsp of salted butter.
  4. After about a minute or so the caramel syrup will start releasing the butter.
  5. It should be brown by this time.
  6. At this stage add a bowl full of basic popcorn.
  7. Coat the popcorns nicely with the caramel.
  8. Turn OFF heat & put the popcorns on a plate to cool down at room temperature.
  9. When the popcorns cool down separate them & serve.
  10. If you use in-salted butter then add 1/2 tsp of salt while caramelising sugar.
