How to let your phone’s camera zoom in to capture small objects details

This is an old trick & it works pretty good when you need a macro lens for your camera phone, but you don’t want to buy one or your phone is not compatible with any model available in stores. You need:

  • your mobile phone
  • an old laser pointer (or new if you like)
  • one Bobby pin and
  • some tape.

Remove the glass lens from the tip of an old laser pointer.

Place the bobby pin holding the lens over the camera side of your phone, making sure that the lens covers the phone’s camera area and tape it to phone, so that it holds its position. The lens’ convex side must be facing away from the camera and the flat surface has to face the camera.
