Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s stellar performance at the quarterfinals of ICC World Twenty20 against Australia has left not only India and the cricket fraternity spellbound, but superstars from the Premier League football are equally stunned. Kohli stroke a 82-run knock and drove India to the semi-finals of ICC World Twenty 20.
Although under a lot of pressure, Kohli batted through the innings to paving ways for India’s victory. The spectacular show also made Tottenham Hotspur and England star Harry Kane talk about his batting. They took to Twitter praising Kohli’s action in the tough situation. Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann also took to the micro-blogging calling Kohli’s strikes classic knocks.
Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has also showered praise over Indian batsman Virat Kohli. He praised the great show by Kohli at World Twenty20 at Punjab Cricket Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakuralso took to Twitter to applaud Kohli for his contribution. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan also praised Kohli saying that the 27-year-old was the greatest judge of a chase he had ever seen.
